Beginnings are so difficult! We all know that. Now, facing a blank page where I have to write the introduction to my long-delayed (by me) and eagerly awaited (by a small number of people) blog...it makes me dizzy!
They say a new blog is created every second somewhere in the world. I only know a handful of them, but I'm constantly amazed by the talent of so many anonymous people for very, very different things. And I wonder: do I have anything to contribute?
Of everything I've read on the subject, the advice I've found most useful is: "write as if no one were reading you." And that's exactly what I intend to do!
So I apologize in advance for my excessive use of exclamation marks, abbreviations, ellipses, and Spanglish. I'm 50% English and I can't help it. I know, it's awful… but… that's me!
If there's anyone out there who might be interested in what I'm going to share with you, I'll be happy. And if you send me your comments, suggestions, and (constructive ;-)) criticisms, all the better.
And we'll start with a brief description of who I am, what I do, and what I want to share. Here it is:
My name is Sally, and I own THE WORKSHOP FLORES. You can find much more information about how I got started on my company website ( www.theworkshopflores.com ). I live in Madrid during the week and in the countryside on weekends. I'm married and have a 7-year-old daughter. My family is my "first love," but my work is a close second. I love what I do!
From a very young age, I was instilled with a love for beauty: beautiful clothes, beautiful houses, gardens, beautiful places, ballet, art, nature, antiques, crafts, old things with a story… and of course, FLOWERS! They've always been a part of my life. I intend to share some aspects of my work and my life on my blog. WELCOME.
